  • La Salle Mexico will host the most important Congress of Education of the year.
  • It will provide a modern vision of what it means to be a Lasallian in the 21st century.

La Salle has always been concerned about being an education referent in the world. We keep the moral values that St. John Baptist de La Salle taught to his beloved students since he started educating the needed ones more than 300 years ago, but the world nowadays is not the same.

That is why the World Congress of Lasallian Education (ICLE) will collect community member experiences from all around the world. It will happen on March 14th – 16th, and it´s going to give a modern vision and fulfill the Lasallian philosophy for the next century.

What´s ICLE?

In commemoration of the 300th anniversary of the death of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, this Congress was called from Casa Generalizia in Rome.

“ICLE will show us new horizons. It will help us to fulfill the requirements of our people around the world to be better teachers to their communities
and it´s an opportunity to share the knowledge from fellow Lasallians to each other.”

ICLE will happen with the attendance of members from all around the world of the Lasallian colleges; not just universities, but also elementary, middle and high schools, including our fellow organizations.

La Salle Mexico City, home of ICLE

La Salle Mexico was chosen to host this amazing Congress. It will be, for the weekend before the arrival of spring to the northern hemisphere, the home of our universal community from all five districts. It means a huge responsibility.

PhD. Bertha Fortoul, Organizer in the Academic Committee, talks about this unique experience: “It´s a great opportunity (for us to host this International Congress) since La Salle Mexico shows itself to the world, with our great infrastructure and long experience in this kind of global events”.

Classrooms, main auditoriums and other spaces in the University, especially designed for this event, will be available for all the guests.

The main events

Three main speakers and 13 experts are going to participate on ICLE. Every conference leads to thinking and sharing experiences and reflections. It will also have a Fiesta Mexicana, a photo expo called Coordenada Azul and other important surprises.

Dr. Fortoul says that the mission of this event is “to make all 16 speakers share their knowledge in the best way possible. That they will make us think about what it means to be a Lasallian, and also recognize and adopt all the good practices of our colleagues”.

How will it change the Lasallian way of life?

The education and teaching ways have changed for good. The technological advances are clear examples of this. ICLE will respond to all this needs and will give us a new vision for the 21st Century.

This congress is one of the final steps on the path towards the Declaration of Lasallian Pedagogy. This way began on 2016 and will end by 2020.

Follow ICLE live!

La Salle Mexico City will offer online live transmission on Lasallian official social networks, including the Institute itself. If you are in another place of the world, follow ICLE online. Every Keynote conference will be available on English, Spanish and French.
